My name is A. Holland Houston and I am a Louisville, Kentucky family lawyer.
A significant portion of my practice is devoted to family law, a broad practice area that is composed of paternity (parenthood), custody, divorce, domestic violence, adoption, and dependency, abuse and neglect. I find myself in criminal court and at the county clerk’s office regularly as a part of my practice.
Jefferson county has a “one family, one Court” policy and is graced with ten family court Judges who have both circuit court and district court jurisdiction.
While this may not mean anything to you now, I have found that it is a tremendous benefit to my clients to have one Judge who is familiar with him or her and the case history.
I had the opportunity to work for what I believe to be several especially talented lawyers in the 90’s. I have worked for myelf since January 2000. My staff is tiny to keep my expenses down so that the majority of work performed on your case is by you and me.
I am licensed to practice in Kentucky and I am admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
I maintain my office in downtown Louisville with a small group of attorneys. I have a journalism degree and I am a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, The Louisville Bar Association and many other organizations.
